I said at the beginning of the Summit League tournament that North Dakota State head coach Dave Richman was on the hot seat. The game tonight against Fort Wayne was huge for Richman’s future.
If NDSU wins, Richman stays. If not, he should be fired.

Richman and the Bison survive another day with their 86-82 win over Fort Wayne but it wasn’t easy. That 23 point lead dwindled in the second half and it was a much closer game than it damn well needed to be. That’s NDSU, though. I’m a believer but I’m always big on reality. I’m an NDSU guy. Always have been. Always will be. But if the Bison fall anywhere short of the championship game in Sioux Falls, Richman has to have an exit interview. This team won’t win the tourney this year considering they play No. 1-seed South Dakota State tomorrow but I give it up to Richman. He got his team to survive even though it came close to being a horrendous loss. There’s no question that he’s on the hot seat. Everyone knows it and no one is talking about it. This team has my attention for one more night. But something needs to be done to keep up with the South Dakota schools.
